Cambodian and Thai Military Leaders Hold Extraordinary Border Meeting to Reinforce Ceasefire

Oddar Meanchey Province, August 27, 2025 — An extraordinary meeting of the Royal Border Committee (RBC) was convened this morning at the Chaom-SaNgam International Border Checkpoint, marking a significant step toward reaffirming peace and stability along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

The meeting brought together high-ranking military officials from both countries. The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Pov Heng, Commander of Military Region 4, while the Thai delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of Military Region 2.

This bilateral engagement aims to foster positive dialogue and encourage the full and effective implementation of the previously agreed ceasefire. Authorities anticipate that the outcomes of this meeting will contribute to reducing tensions, restoring normalcy, and promoting lasting peace and stability in the region.
